MOBILE DISC JOCKEY
QUALIFICATIONS I have been a DJ for the past ten years, and my experiences have been wide and diverse. I have a vast knowledge of many types of music. I have performed in many different venues such as, country and western clubs, dance clubs, and mobile situations. I have good communication skills on the microphone, and when the situation warrants, I can be the life of the party. I really enjoy playing music for people and watching them having a good time. I’m comfortable performing at small, intimate gatherings or large, rowdy parties. I am a people-person DJ: I know how to keep everyone involved in the party and having a great time.
EXPERIENCE
Presently Debut Entertainment, I enjoy performing at Vintage Villas Wedding Center and La Villa Vista Resort on Lake Travis for many of Debut’s weddings and special events.
1996 - Present Express Mobile DJ Services, Owner I started my own business after working for other mobile DJ outfits. I specialize in everything from wedding receptions to school dance events. I have performed at pool parties for teenagers and paddleboat parties for corporate executives. I have been the master of ceremonies at swing dances for sororities and Senior Proms in West Texas.
1997 - 2000 Dell Computer, Notebooks I began work at Dell in the Shipping and Receiving Department through a temp company called Olsten Staffing, and was asked to join the Dell team permanently in August of 1997. I was promoted to work in Dell’s laptop computer department called Notebooks. My duties included but were not limited to building harddrives and installing them into the laptops and installing chips, adapters, and other such components in the computers. I decided to choose Dell’s voluntary layoff program in 2000 in order to grow my DJ business as well as go to school for a real estate license.
1995 - 1997 Ropers Nightclub and Dallas Nightclub, Disc JockeyMy duties at these two well-known, Austin hangouts included being master of ceremonies for contests and prize giveaways, greeting the crowd and announcing drink specials, and playing a house format of forty minutes of the latest in Country music and twenty minutes of cutting edge Dance, Rap, and Rock-n-Roll. I was a favored DJ because I played many requests.
1993 - 1995 Popular Talent, Groove Dog, and Toulouse on Sixth Street, Disc JockeyI freelanced with Groove Dog Mobile Systems while working at Toulouse. My most memorable experience during this time period was a show I did on a paddleboat in which the party liked me so much they followed me to Toulouse where I was scheduled to work later that night. At Toulouse, I announced live music acts, karoake, and other spots of interest in the large club. I played all styles of dance music including retro, disco, modern and college rock.
